Be a Wikimedia fundraising "User Experience" volunteer!

Thank you to everyone who volunteered last year on the Wikimedia fundraising 'User Experience' project. We have talked to many different people in different countries and their feedback has helped us immensely in restructuring our pages. If you haven't heard of it yet, the 'User Experience' project has the goal of understanding the donation experience in different countries (outside the USA) and enhancing the localization of our donation pages.

I am (still) searching for volunteers to spend some time on a Skype chat with me, reviewing their own country's donation pages. It will be done on a 'usability' format (I will ask you to read the text and go through the donation flow) and will be asking your feedback in the meanwhile.

The only pre-requisite is for the volunteer to actually live in the country and to have access to at least one donation method that we offer for that country (mainly credit/debit card, but also real time banking like IDEAL, E-wallets, etc...) so we can do a live test and see if the donation goes through. **All volunteers will be reimbursed of the donations that eventually succeed (and they will be very low amounts, like 1-2 dollars)**

Gestaltung der Startseite

Hallo zusammen,

ich fände es sinnvoll, die Gestaltung der Houpsigk etwas zu modernisieren und ansprechender zu gestalten. Zum Beispiel halte ich die ganzen Links auf die anderen Spracheversionen für überflüssig, die wichtigen stehen doch schon in den Interwikilinks in der Seitenleiste. Wozu soll man da auf der Houpsigk (!) noch mal alle Wikipedien nach Größe geordnet aufführen (noch dazu sind die ganzen Zahlen nicht einmal aktuell). Das könnte man auch alles einfach auf einer eigenen Projektseite stehen, wenn es das Bedürfnis danach gibt.

Zum zweiten würde ich vorschlagen, dass diese mehrsprachigen Hinweise, was die Ripuarische Wikipedia ist, gestrichen werden.

Stattdessen würde ich auf der Houpsigk lieber (wie in anderen Wikipedien) interessante Artikel und Bilder präsentieren.

Die derzeitige Gestaltung stammt natürlich noch aus der Anfangszeit der Ripuarischen Wikipedia, damals hat man das so gemacht, da man ja auch noch keine größere Auswahl an Artikeln hatte. Aber um die Ripuarische Wikipedia wieder voranzubringen, d. h. endlich wieder mehr Leute zum Mitschreiben zu motivieren, sollte man glaube ich die Startseite neu gestalten.

Hallo Holder,

der Vorschlag klingt sehr vernünftig. Ich fürchte aber, dass es kaum gelingen wird, hier ein Einverständnis über die Wunschform zu erzielen. Du kannst ja gerne deinen Vorschlag zur Wahl stellen. Meine Unterstützung hast du, denn ich finde die aktuelle Form absolut nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Da eine solche Arbeit aber sehr zeitaufwendig ist sollte man vorher Klarheit schaffen, was gewünscht ist.

Unter Benutzer:Holder/Test1 habe ich jetzt einmal einen Versuch zur Neugestaltung angefangen. Ich schlage vor, dass auf der Hauptseite jeden Monat ein neuer Artikel präsentiert wird. Weitere Vorschläge für die Artikel des Monats wären z. B. August Macke, Vincent van Gogh, Leonardo da Vinci, Langefääl, Olpe (Kürten), Troisdorf, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Konrad Adenauer, Zweide Weltkresch, Christoph Kolumbus, Linux (Bedriefsystem).

Bei den Neuigkeiten ("Et Neuste") könnte man interessante Links auf Zeitungen, Webseiten usw. präsentieren, wie dies schon auf der Alemannischen, der Plattdeutschen, der Saterfriesieischen, der Nordfriesischen und der Westfriesischen Wikipedia geschieht. Unter "Schon jewusst" könnte man in einem gelegentlichen Wechsel alle möglichen Artikel präsentieren, wie es auf den meisten anderen Wikipedien gängig ist.

Die Texte habe ich zum großen Teil erst einmal von der jetzigen Hauptseite übernommen, natürlich kann man sie auch anders schreiben, aber meine Ripuarisch-Kenntnisse sind doch eher passiver Natur :-). Aber es müsste auf jeden Fal jemand alles durchsehen, ob es so richtig ist. Mir geht es zunächst einmal hauptsächlich um das grundlegende Design.

Zum weiteren Vorgehen: ich würde einfach ein Wahl ansetzen mit einer Abstimmung, die sagen wir mal vier Wochen läuft. Da würde ich ich die jetzige Form und meinen Vorschlag zur Wahl stellen und jeder andere kann natürlich auch noch einen eigenen Vorschlag machen.

Dann setze ich einfach mal eine vierwöchige Abstimmung mit Diskussion an.

Abstimmung

In dieser Abstimmung stehen folgende Alternativen zur Gestaltung der Startseite der Ripuarischen Wikipedia zur Wahl:

1. die derzeitige Houpsigk
2. ein Alternativ-Vorschlag.

Weitere Alternativen können hier bis Ende Februar vorgeschlagen werden. Die Abstimmung läuft bis zum 6. März 2013; 12:00 Uhr.

Die Regeln zur Abstimmung sind von hier übernommen: Stimmberechtigt sind alle angemeldeten Benutzer, die mindestens 33 Tage angemeldet sind und außerdem mindestens 15 Edits im Artikelnamensraum beigetragen haben.

Jeder hat eine Pro-Stimme, die er für eine der Alternativen angeben kann, Contra- oder Neutral-Stimmen sind nicht möglich. Die Alternative mit den meisten Stimmen wird nach Ablauf der Abstimmung umgesetzt. Bei Stimmengleichheit bleibt die derzeitige Startseite bestehen.

Ich würde vorschlagen, dass man wieder eine Erklärung auf Hochdeutsch und Englisch einbaut, was das hier für eine Wikipedia ist. Natürlich nicht, wie bisher, in zwölf verschiedenen Sprachen, sondern nur in diesen zwei. Ansonsten find ich die Gestaltung sehr gut.Klüngelskääl (Klaafe) 10:43, 6. Feb 2013 (CET)

Ich persönlich halte dies für nicht wichtig, aber man könnte auf die Startseite auch einfach einen Link auf Wikipedia:Houpsigk/Ripoarisch_Info setzen, wo Fremdsprachige die entsprechenden Informationen finden. --Holder (Klaafe) 11:06, 6. Feb 2013 (CET)

Wikimedia sites to move to primary data center in Ashburn, Virginia. Read-only mode expected.

This is intended to improve the technical performance and reliability of all Wikimedia sites, including this wiki.
